Terms of Service
Last updated: May 3, 2026
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using Solo1099 (the "Site") you agree to these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
2. Not professional advice
Everything on Solo1099 — calculators, articles, newsletters, comments, everything — is general information, not professional tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice. We are not your CPA, EA, or attorney. The calculators produce planning estimates based on public IRS and SSA data; they do not file returns and do not anticipate every edge case in your situation.
You are solely responsible for verifying figures with the IRS, with relevant state authorities, and with a qualified professional before making any decision that affects your taxes or finances.
3. License to use
Solo1099 grants you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to access and use the Site for personal or internal business use. You may not:
- Reproduce, mirror, or scrape the Site for commercial use without prior written permission.
- Reverse-engineer the calculators to incorporate them into a paid service we have not authorized.
- Remove copyright, trademark, or attribution notices.
- Use the Site to violate any law or third-party right.
Embeddable widgets we publish for partners ship under their own license terms, stated where the widget is offered.
4. Calculator outputs
Calculator outputs are estimates. We do our best to source every constant from public IRS Revenue Procedures, SSA fact sheets, and the Internal Revenue Code, but tax rules change, our implementation may contain bugs, and your situation may fall outside the simplifying assumptions we make. Use the outputs as a starting point for conversation with a tax professional, not as a substitute.
5. Affiliate links
Some links on the Site point to third-party services (e.g. tax software, bookkeeping platforms, business banks). We may earn a commission when you sign up through those links, at no extra cost to you. See our Affiliate Disclosure for the full list and methodology.
6. Newsletter
The newsletter (when active) is voluntary. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by replying with the word "unsubscribe". We do not share or sell subscriber data.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including (without limitation) merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always reflect the latest tax law.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Solo1099 and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site, including (without limitation) lost profits, tax penalties, or loss of data. Our total liability under any theory will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Solo1099 from any claim arising out of your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.
10. Third-party services
Linked third-party sites have their own terms and policies. Solo1099 is not responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices.
11. Changes
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the new Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Solo1099's operating entity is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
